For example:

$ gimp
gimp: error while loading shared libraries:
/usr/lib/libgtk-1.2.so.0: undefined symbol: lstat

The same thing happens with any program linked with GTK+. It's an
interaction between libgtk1.2 and libc6.1 (see my first post).
I have libgtk1.2_1.2.8-3.0.1 and libc6.1_2.2.1-1. Are you still
using glibc-2.1? Maybe that's why you're not seeing this.
