Re: DEC MMJ -> DB9 serial ?

Sorry to cc: to both lists :-/

Hopefully this may be informative to others who want
to try using serial consoles + Alphas as well...

Mine has two MMJs...

The adapters are little boxes that have a MMJ(F) on
one end and a DB9(F) on the other. Inside, there are
six colored, socketed leads that may be inserted into
the DB9 connector in any configuration.

Since I've seen several conflicting pinouts for
MMJ/DB9, this is the reason I want to get the pinouts
correct the first time; these adapters look near
impossible to rework, and I've only got two of them
:-/

Okay, once I get the right pinouts, I'll modify the
inittab. I think this will be fun, somewhat nostalgic
of my earlier VT/VAX existence though much better with
Debian ;-)

Thanks to everyone who has helped :)
