Jabber on Linux/Alpha; pth problems?

Hi there!

Has someone tried to run the jabber server on a debian/alpha
(potato)?

I've tried, but always get segfaults when the server tries to
contact update.jabber.org. I tried the 1.0 jabber release and
also the current cvs versions. The problem seems to be in a pth
function (I have tried both the latest stable and developments
versions), but I'm not quite sure, yet. I just wanted to know if
someone else has got it running on a similiar system and what
kind of black magic you had to perform.

Thanx,
        Konrad
