Diamond V550 in noname

hello


i've tried to use a Diamond Viper V550 in a "noname" -- with no luck -- the
screen stayed black (off), has this something to do with the
initialisation-problems from the bios (which are described in the
DEC-board-handbook)???

or is there any chance to get this nice graphicscard working???

which newer (and quicker) graphic-cards are known to work in such a beast???

in the moment i'm using a S3 Virge wich seems to be (comparatively) very slow
