Heat, as far as I can tell. I just had another compile run, with the
cover off and a strong fan blowing into the case, no SIGSEGV. Will ask
the manufacturer to replace the case (which is a standard PC
mini-tower, not made for 400W maximum dissipation inside...).

Yes, it's not exactly reproducible, but it happened to me half a dozen
times in just two days.

Thank you, works fine. The quality is striking, compared to all sound
cards I have seen so far, including that of the DEC Personal
Workstation 500au.
