This appears to be a problem with Ruffian and 2.4.0-testX, as noted on
axp-list by Michal Jaegermann <michal@ellpspace.math.ualberta.ca>.
You should only be using the sym53c8xx driver with the 875 that is
built in.
Can you provide a console log of the SCSI messages?
