MILO 000209: works great
It took me a while to get this done, but now that I've successfully
tested MILO 000209 (2.0.35-c7b) on my LX164, I wanted to report that
it fixes a few issues for me (over 2.0.35-c5.6):
* It understands newly-created (with extensions) ext2 filesystems (I
believe this was the point of this MILO)
* It looks for milo.cfg as well as milo.conf, enabling one to use such
a file to boot from a FAT-formatted partition (like the one linload.exe
and MILO itself lives on, for example; or a floppy)
* It understands disks partitioned with BSD disklabel. This last
makes it much easier to experiment with booting from SRM or
ARC/AlphaBIOS on the same machine.
I'm not sure if this third fix is really a new MILO feature, or if I
was seeing an instance of the problem fixed by fix #1. Also, it seemed
to have some trouble with the last (third) partition on my disk
(claimed it was trying to read past the end of the device).
Anyhow, a big thanks to those who made this possible. Flexibility is
always good :-)
