Me too :(

I had serious libc6.1 problems after an apt-get upgrade.
I saved the system by ftp-ing libc6.1 2.1.2-8 and installing it 
manualy with dpkg.  I ended up with a system full of broken 
dependencies.  Both dselect and apt-get were broken.  
So I spend a lot of time fixing things manualy.
