RE: pyxis_machine_check ---- strange message!

The messages roughly correspond to a molecular dynamics programme we have
started running this past week.  The load hovers around 1.  There was one
incident where a reboot was necessary since ttys started respawning too fast
(perhaps this is unrelated).
