Re: Booting AS 1000A 5/xxx with 99/02/05 disks



I have the same issues/problems boot an AS800 (corelle) which also uses the
EV5 noritake kernel.  your suggestion to use aboot interactively worked!
the kernel boots, and i'm thrown into the

    Debian GNU/Linux System Installation

main screen where you choose color or monochrome, but the keybord then stops
responsing (i can't hit enter to continue).  if i cntrl-alt-del, SIGHUP and
SIGKILL is sent to all processes, and i go back to the SRM console.

any ideas?  thanks

p.s. RH5.2 is unable to boot the AS800 despite the claims by
compaq/redhat -- the QLogic ISP1020 scsi adapter (the on-board adapter) in
the AS800 is not supported.
