volume control?
Well, a new kernel (2.1.131) has finally been compiled successfully for
our Avanti (although parallel port had to be disabled, it hung the machine
on boot for some reason). Now for the interesting part - the sound card
finally works, but it's really loud. Is there a console program that lets
me change the volume? I use volume on an i386 machine, but the code isn't
64bit clean (well, it compiles with some modifications - but shows the
volume as 235 or somesuch, where it should only go to 99, and any attemps
to change the volume don't work). Any ideas? These loud beeps are driving
me nuts :)
