It seems, that I was a bit too vague.
Booting via aboot is in my experience not very satisfactory
(Alphastation 4/266), since the kernel doesn't recognize the SCSI-Devices
when scanning the SCSI bus (timeouts).
Booting via `rawboot' (i.e. the bootloader provided with the Linux kernel)
works. Unfortunately, it works only with 2.0.35 and not with 2.1.131,
since I'm unable to compile the bootloader with the 2.1.131 kernel.
