Hi,

Yes, this may be an irrelevant tidbit, but, with the "Auto" hard disk
partitioning scheme used by AlphaBIOS (an NT-centric scheme, it seems) you
can't use cfdisk to partition the drive during linux installation.  I got
"You have no permission to write to drive" alternating with "Cannot read
drive geometry" and "Bad primary partition" errors.  Dropping to a shell
and using good ol' fdisk did the trick, however.
