I do. I use 2.1.72 normally, but flop up to 2.1.BleedingEdge to test
things or recompile 2.1.x-based packages (pciutils, etc).

Yep (assuming you configure too ;-)). Dpkg has a problem with the newer
kernels (after 2.1.82 I believe), but it does work. You just have to be
patient and/or use --force-overwrite alot with it. There are a few of us
working on a permanent fix for this right now, so it shouldn't be long
before we get a fixed glibc package to handle this (along with a kernel
patch upstream).

I haven't tried this...have been too busy otherwise compiling every
package I can get my electronic mittens on :-)
