Fresh hamm install

        Hi!

Unfortunately I don't have much time to seek out all the trouble
I come across with installin Debian, so I will be nagging at this
list and at least reporting the errors I come across. Here are the
first. Hopefully some good soul will fix it eventually.

1) When the base floppies untar themselves I get a broken pipe.
   I think  that line should be written more robust, perhaps
   without using pipes. But then there must be a good reason for
   piping the outpuf of zcat into tar. I'm sure the reason is not
   possible lack of disk space.

2) cannot install emacs, because it wants libc5, which doesn't
   seem to be available. Where am I supposed to get a libc5
   package?

3) various dependency conflicts because xlib6g is missing from
   the debian ftp site. Whee do I get it?
