Thank you very much for your effort — and also thanks to the LLVM and ROCm teams for their great work!
Once I find the time, I’ll look into the dependency tree to see whether I can safely install hipcc from unstable.
Previously, I used a mixed system before the latest stable release, but have since switched to a clean Forky installation.
Thanks again — I’ll keep you posted!
Best regards,

Sorry Marcel. I spoke too soon.
There are a couple serious bugs blocking the transition of clang-21 to
Forky and they will inherently block the transition of hipcc from Sid to
Forky. While I can easily fix the issues blocking the various ROCm 6
components themselves, I don't think I can fix the llvm-toolchain-21
issues. The compiler is itself a complex beast and the release-critical
bugs that are open on it are beyond my realm of experience.
The efforts of the Debian ROCm Team are insufficient to migrate hipcc
and libamdhip64-dev to Forky, so unfortunately I don't know exactly how
long it will take. I cannot speak for the Debian LLVM Team and I
wouldn't want to pressure them given the amazing work that they do.
Sincerely,
