well, it prohibits migration. The alternative would be asking for removal of the arm64 and ppc64el binaries in testing. Do you want that?
No. Let me try to fix this bug before we resort to removing the binaries from testing. My belief is that the Debian community appreciates that we try to keep these alternative architectures building, even if they are rarely used and might slightly delay migrations of packages to testing on amd64 [1].
However, I would recommend that you do request the removal of arm64 and ppc64el binaries from Ubuntu Resolute. The target host architectures is a planned difference between Debian and Ubuntu with respect to the ROCm packages. Please keep Andreas Hasenack in the loop if you choose to file a removal in Ubuntu.
isn't that a dependency cycle? yes, if not, it could be easy to fix.
There is a cycle, but the arm64 and ppc64el binaries on unstable / testing are sufficient to bootstrap the updated package. I do aim to break the cycle, but it will require a trip through NEW.
Sincerely, Cory Bloor[1]: This is open to discussion. I'm happy to follow whatever the community desires on this topic.
