I'm just about to start on the init editor... How would one create the GUI?
Any ideas, have any one checked the RH editor? I think that sucks...
For those unfamiliar with the idea, the init editor creates/removes links
in the '/etc/rc?./' directories, depending on what a user wants to have
started in the different runlevels. It also edits '/etc/inittab', changing
the 'id:4:initdefault:' value, so that one can have different runlevels
depending on need... I have the following runlevels my self:
- ----- s n i p p -----
# Runlevel 0 is halt.
# Runlevel 1 is single-user.
# Runlevel 2 is multi-user, w/o external connects, w/o X11.
# Runlevel 3 is multi-user, w/ external connects, w/o X11.
# Runlevel 4 is multi-user, w/ X11 and external connects.
# Runlevel 5 is multi-user, w/ X11 and external connects.
# Runlevel 6 is reboot
- ----- s n i p p -----
This way I can have a pretty much working system in runlevel 2 incase of an
error or crash, _WITHOUT_ have a lot of users bugging me on the system etc...
PS. I will upload a screen shot of RedHats GUI on my website, for you to
glance at, but as I said, I find it worthless and ilogical...
