Re: Building gnat-4.8 using Ada-France monotone packaging scripts ?

Hello,

Hello David, it's good to see you on this list :)

I would like to know if it is currently possible to build gnat-4.8
using the needed package-version.orig.tar.gz and the Ada-France
monotone packaging script ?

Moreover, where I can download the gnat-4.8-version.orig.tar.gz to
use for gnat-4.8 as it does not exist yet in Debian experimental.

It seems there is a reference to a package called
gnat-4.8-4.8-20130105-1, but I don't know where to find it.

I build in a schrooted amd64 sid Debian, using some specific
experimental packages

The current status is that I uploaded gnat-4.8 to experimental back in
January but the Debian FTP masters have not yet evaluated the package
for inclusion into the archive (they're too busy with the release of
Wheezy). See http://ftp-master.debian.org/new.html.

If you don't really want to build gnat-4.8 but only use it, I can
upload my binary packages somewhere for you if you want. If you really
want to build, read on...

Since the sources are in the binary package gcc-4.8-source, the
gnat*.orig.tar.gz was empty, so I removed it entirely. gnat-4.6 and
successors are so-called "native" packages for Debian, they only have
a *.debian.tar.gz file and no *.orig.tar.gz.

You can build from the packaging scripts in Monotone like so:

* install the package gcc-4.8-source from experimental
* do a checkout of the org.debian.gnat-4.8 branch from monotone
* schroot -- dpkg-buildpackage

That should be all, except that I have not kept org.debian.gnat-4.8 up
to date with the latest changes in gcc-4.8-source. Hopefully, all the
patches should still apply though. If not, please let me know and I'll
try to help.

Hope this helps
