Re: No Braille after Debian 13 fresh installation

To get ORCA to work with it, you will have to install 'xbrlapi'
sudo apt install xbrlapi
If the Braille display isn't working at the text console, such as when you press control-alt-f1, then installing 'xbrlapi' isn't going to help.
Try something like 'ps -ef|grep brltty'
If it is running then for some reason it doesn't recognize your display.  You may have to turn on logging for Brltty or change a setting in '/etc/brltty.conf'.

Hello,

I'm blind and currently struggling with a fresh Debian install with this image. I installed BRLTTY with apt after the installation process (orca was installed without BRLTTY).

But my b.note display displays absolutely nothing, since it is in the supported list.

I tried booting BRLTTY with

sudo brltty

sudo brltty -b bn

sudo brltty -b bn -d XXXX:XXXX

sudo brltty -b bn -d usb:vendorIdentifier=XXX+productIdentifier=XXX

with informations returned by lsusb

My b.note is listed in lsusb, but maybe it's only detecting the keyboard because the braille b.note's keyboard is working.

I don't get errors, just orca saying the BRLTTY version.

I don't know what I can do next to solve my issue. I can't test other connexion way, my b.note is only using usbc, no Bluetooth.

Thank for help and your great work, and I wish you a good year.
