debian trixie volume is very low when logging into mate after the installation and audio files do not play with normal console users
Hi, I was wondering why in trixie after an installation with speech
enabled does the login screen sound very low and speakup at first is
reading things at the normal volume which during the installation I set
to 9 using the speakup key and the number 2. If I go into alsamixer
either in console mode or terminal in mate I am able to change the
volume to %100 and it stays for the entire session but once I reboot the
volume is always set to the low setting both on console and in mate and
after running alsamixer I ran alsactl store? I also installed sox and
when I play a wav file as a normal user the file does not play but
speech is still being heard and the user is part of the audio group. If
I run the same command as root the file plays like normal that is the
sound is heard. I always reboot after making a change to make sure that
the change take and to make sure no values are left over. Nick Gawronski
