Re: Commands Inside the Installer

I didn't know I could run that command without the whole system being installed!

Simple mixer control 'IEC958',0
Simple mixer control 'IEC958',1
Simple mixer control 'IEC958',2
Simple mixer control 'IEC958',3
Simple mixer control 'IEC958',4

Progress!

I don't know why it is but every time I run the USB stick I made from the mini.iso, I lose the GRUB installation for the hard drive.

I also found something interesting about speakup, I'll post separately.

I like to boot into console instead of having my low horsepower computer slow down with X Windows graphics.

I used as root "systemctl stop lightdm" "systemctl disable lightdm" - but what happens when I lot in at the command prompt is that it tries to load MATE and then crashes.  I had MATE working by selecting "Mate" instead of "Default".

I found these entries in the Xorg log - look it mentions Speakup but it thinks it's a keyboard and it seems when the system recognizes my keyboard IKBC USB Keyboard, it starts removing modules then finally terminating the Xorg server:

Ok :/

Ok, but can't you run

amixer -c 0 scontrols

and see whether it is still emitting the "invalid card number" error?
