Yes, I know. I looked at the man page which says:

To  read  (say) 20 lines of the buffer at a time starting from the top

which didn't work for me, but I thought I remembered that I followed the
man page the last time I tested before my upload. Hmm, while typing this
e-mail I see what went wrong. the first character there is a one, not
the letter l. Sorry for the confusion.
