Hi, I wanted to give linux/sid a try before making it migrate to testing this tuesday. I've therefore rebuilt d-i against sid (since that was an easy way to get linux's udebs). Speech synthesis seems to start just fine but once I've picked French (choice 17), text is still read as if it were in English, which really sounds strange. I'm running out of time to figure out which package is the culprit but I thought I'd drop a note on both accessibility/boot lists. For the record, I've set a block-udeb on all udeb-producing packages anyway, so only hand-picked such packages should reach testing until the next d-i release anyway. Mraw, KiBi.
