I have tried so on a Debian 7.4 and cannot reproduce this issue. Since you have experienced this behavior before the release of Wheezy, please try to reproduce the problem on a up-to-date Debian 7.x. Which GNOME session did you use and did you run startx or did you log in using a log-in manager? Sebastian
