Hi, Another suggestion: try turning Speakup off before you start your X session. In the laptop keyboard layout, it's caps lock-enter, and I can't remember what it is in the desktop layout. Those who use Speakup will know. So, turn off Speakup, start your X session and run Orca. This may work around your problem.
