Bug#888399: r-base-core: [m68k] bogus "missing value where TRUE/FALSE needed" errors

Package: r-base-core
Version: 3.4.3-1
Severity: important
Tags: upstream
User: debian-68k@lists.debian.org
Usertags: m68k
Control: affects -1 src:r-cran-git2 src:r-cran-utf8 src:r-cran-wordcloud

Builds of R addons for m68k (admittedly not a release architecture)
have been failing with architecture-specific "missing value where
TRUE/FALSE needed" errors [1][2][3]. I initially reported these
errors against the addons themselves [4][5], but am increasingly
convinced they're in fact manifestations of a bug in R itself.

Could you please take a look?

Thanks!
