OK, thanks. :-)

No matter - anyway, it failed on the same spot again:

/usr/bin/xmlto man onsgmls.xml
xmlto: input does not validate (status 3)
file:///etc/xml/docbook-xml.xml:5: parser error : StartTag: invalid element name
< catalog="file:///usr/share/xml/docbook/schema/dtd/3.1.7/catalog.xml"/>
 ^
/build/buildd/opensp-1.5.2/docsrc/onsgmls.xml:3: warning: failed to load external entity "/usr/share/sgml/docbook/xml-dtd-4.1.2/docbookx.dtd"
 "/usr/share/sgml/docbook/xml-dtd-4.1.2/docbookx.dtd">
                                                      ^
warning: failed to load external entity "/usr/share/sgml/docbook/xml-dtd-4.1.2/docbookx.dtd" validity error : Could not load the external subset "/usr/share/sgml/docbook/xml-dtd-4.1.2/docbookx.dtd"
Document /build/buildd/opensp-1.5.2/docsrc/onsgmls.xml does not validate

Now what?

Looking on my desktop system, I get:

<delegatePublic publicIdStartString="-//OASIS//ENTITIES DocBook Notations V4.4//EN" catalog="file:///usr/share/xml/docbook/schema/dtd/4.4/catalog.xml"/>

or (Ubuntu 6.10):

<delegateSystem systemIdStartString="http://docbook.org/xml/4.2/"; catalog="file:///usr/share/xml/docbook/schema/dtd/4.2/catalog.xml"/>

so the delegatePublic or delegateSystem part is what is missing here.

I'll give it another try, I just wish I knew what I'm looking for here.
