The FPU differences between v4 and v5 ARM is one of the main reasons the
arm port is now being replaced. The current ABI assumes an FPU and
requires the kernel to provide FPU emulation in case it's not available
(which is the case for *every* modern ARM processor). The armel ABI
assumes no FPU and requires softfloat in libraries.
