I am now building atari with the regular daily builds and it will release with d-i rc1. After some non-atari-specific breakage, I think we have good images at <http://people.debian.org/~smarenka/d-i/images-m68k/daily/>. The iso's are at <http://cdimage.debian.org/pub/cdimage-testing/sid_d-i/m68k/current/>. The cdrom-initrd.gz is what you want for a 2.4 kernel with cdrom. Other atari stuff is in the atari directory.
