kernel panic with 3.0.22

I'm trying to install the current woody release on an Amiga 4000T
68040 40Mhz (WarpEngine 4040), with an attached SCSI Quantum 2GB drive.

Everytime when it gets to making a filesystem the machine locks up.

So I tried to make the filesystem with mke2fs directly from the
second VT.

When it gets to about 90% of making the filesystem, mke2fs causes
the kernel to panic with:

	kernel panic: free list corrupted

This is guaranteed everytime. Anyone seen this ???
