kernel compilation on mac68k

Hi,

This week I installed potato on my Performa 475. Now I'd like to
compile a custom kernel. I noticed that the boot floppies installed
kernel 2.2.10, compiled with gcc 2.7.2.3.

Should I install gcc272, too, or can I use the standard gcc package
(currently at 2.95.2) to compile the kernel? Is 2.2.10 + m68k-patch
the kernel version I should use, or is there a later, reasonably
stable (on mac68k) version out there?

TIA
Matthias
