Re: Xserver/Xwindows on SE/30
Ok...well, you can call this open source learning....
I'm venting my confusion by stating my updated understanding...please
correct me.

(the second is the same as the mini-howto)
As far as I can find, all these methods still require me to run X on
my local machine. Is there anyway of gettting the CPU load from all
that work off of the localhost and onto the server?
Nowhere can I find anything about what computer actually does the work here.
As I said, I have tried running startx while in a telnet session, but
it doesnt load. It stops at keyboard config problems...I played
around with xf86config until I realized that it shouldn't be touched
to much. The Video card settings are for the one in the server which
i'm telneted into. And I could desperately use an xf86 setup file for
an SE/30.
Cry for HELP!

Ok, I've done a little reading, and I'm goin to go ahead with
getting Xserver to boot on the se/30. I could really use some help
from anyone that has booted xserver on teh se/30, or any compact
mac, for that matter.
Basically, as I understand it, I first have to setup some
configuration stuff, but after that I can just telnet in to any box
and run startx?
It sounds too good to be true. Please, someone elaborate, and please
tell me what config tools I need, along with any other lib's or
anything. Basically, a list of the following would help:
(.deb) files needed to configure and support Xwindows for se/30
files needed to support a remote xwindows session on the host
machine (not the se/30)
anything else.
Does anyone have experience with this?
thanks a million for any help.

again...sorry for cross-posting to comp.os.linux.m68k, but the
newsgroup has seemed a bit dead recently..
