I tried much settings in my XF86Config but X always starts in 640x480, with
other settings it sometimes doesn´t start. I also disabled the svga and vga
drivers just left the Linux/m68k Frame Buffer Device active with no
luck. I changed the horizontal sync to 48.08kHz and the vertical to 72.2Hz
like my monitor-manual says its a standard-setting, then startup-message from
X says a horizontal sync of 125.00 is needed for a mode of 800x600. Same
for "default"-mode. It will be deleted and used the "default frame buffer
video mode" instead.
Do you also use the fbdev-driver? I tried it also with the
CLGen:SD64-driver with no luck.
I think this must be a kernel-thing not recognizing a screen greater than
640x480.

Regards
