Install problems on custom 68k linux kernel

I have an unusal 68030 hardware and I have ported a 2.3 linux kernel to it. I
have got the kernel running and mounted a NFS root filesystem on it. I have
compiled a static linked bash shell which is running perfectly.

The problem is now that I want to install the debian binary distribution on
it. To do that i downloaded the file: Debian2.1r3/main/disks-m68k/current/commo
n/base2_1.tgz
to my PC also running linux. I untared this file into my m68k boot directory
and tried to boot. My terminal locked up but the kernel kept going. Next I
used my static compiled shell and tried to launch the debian binaries, witch
only resulted in segmentation faults. The one and only runnable binary was the
ldconfig witch is a static compiled binary.

Has any one experience with similar hardware like vme boards etc?
What is needed to be done to make dynamic linked application work?

Some characteristics of my system:
CPU: 68030
FPU: NONE, using fpu emulator
Memory: 4 Mb
Kernel: 2.3
