can you help?

Hello readers,
could you guys help me? well i bought my first Linux book which is Linux For Dummies
i get Redhat 5.4 for intel

my current system is:
Intel 225mhz
32mb ram
3.2gb which has windows 98 on it
a new 3.2gb drive for Linux.
How do i set this up so that Windows 98 is my main system and i get a boot
promt for which system which i want to use at bookup, does windows give me
this or Linux?
i want to know as i have to Disks and two OS's so i need to know which disk
to give the 0 to and which drive will be next on line.
what is slave?

Redhat doesn't surport my motherboard, well i don't know this but readhat was
made in 1997 and my mother board later in that year.
My graphics card works...don't know about my Network card.
i want a new version of this Readhat...but whats SUSe6.2? it seems easier to
install, and me being a dummie this would be very good for me..? i am on a LAN
all my requests goto the gateway.
does this work with Linux? i guesst this works : )

so Redhat6 or SUse6.2?
don't these have all the same optons, like VM..and Webserver?

which do i get a manual with, i need a manual! Redhat6 is twice the price as SUSe6.2
Openlinux 2.2? what the hell is that?

look guys i know this is a list for m68k users, but if you can't help me
please point me to a list that will help me, thanks.

what i want to have Linux for is to use the Netscape, IRC, a lil MP3 player
and image reader, not anything else really, just a few network and internet
tools. and some good stuff.
The rest can be done on Win98.

thanks again for reading this a putting up with my stupid questions.
chris

i subscribed to these lists thinking "yeah linux no problem"
how wrong was i, ok i want to use the REDHAT or SuSe versions on my PC
mmx233 with 32mb and hopefully i'lll finid a 3.2 gb harddrive.
I really need for linux and windows98 to exsist on the same system.
So which "Beginner" books do you's recommend that i try? i hope to buy
from amazon.co.uk
as i picked up a £5 off thingy, ok i am a cheapy monkey : )
i typed in linux and oh so many to chose, which?

am i stupid? you may think so now...
can i use any Linux/unix app on any version of linux?
does netscape com work on any linux?
am i stupid? do i need a tap on the head?
do i need a brain in my head?
please don't recommend "Linux for big dummies" well if you think it
might help me.
I wouldn't like a book that was just about one version of linux, but
linux as a whole
i want to know how to use it, not WHY it was made.
i prefer a book less than £20 and would also tell me how to use
Debian68k.
CD Roms would be a bonus.
i am so keen on linux, i want it for the networking side. i have a small
lan at home,
and i know may way around it like a mouse throw cheese.
i am bored with Win98 networking thingys. i want more power over my
network...
i'm getting a cable modem, may i could set up a webserver?

oh and SuSe6.1 is cheap so if you think it suits my needs i'd prefer it
as redhat is £50 something...
i need a easy installer.

many many thanks for your time and help and pity : )
