booting debian

Hello,

I'm new to linux and i'm triyng to install dedian on my lc3.
 (12 Mo RAM - DD 40 Mb HFS - Syquest EZ 135 ).

After changing the Kernel ( thanks Wolfgang ), the installation goes well.

But now, i can't boot on my new debian filesystem because the system ( or
kernel ?)is "unable to open an initial console" and freeze the start process...

When i boot on a ramdisk, i can mount the filesystem and examine all files...
... but what to do ?

Can somebody help me ? Many thanks
