Question on selecting between multiple ADB (mac) pointing devices

I've got both a 3 button trackball, and an ALPS keyboard with a touchpad
attached to my Mac.  adbmouse was set up with  c 10 10, etc.  By default X
is using the keyboards touchpad & buttons. Is it possible to configure the
system to use a particular pointer (or recognize both)?

BTW, before installing X, rolling the trackball produced numbers on screen,
and the touchpad was "dead".
