Doesn't ether work with Quadra700?

  I am using kernel (2.1.131-981230) and System_981227_map on Quadra700. 
Ether doesn't seem to work as for me though it wants to install a main package 
through ftp.  Quadra seems to be aware of Ether. But, there is no answer even 
if ping-command is used for the other hosts. 

  When Linux boots, the following message is shown.

eth0: SONIC ether found at 0x50a000 MAC,08:00:07:b4:c6:c6 IRQ 9
SIOCADDRT: Invalid argument

  When it was installed, "SIOCADDRT: Invalid argument" message was shown. 
disks-m68k/1998-07-23/mac/Install.sit.bin is uncompress, and doesn't as for
replacing kernel and sysmap and only installing it, eth0 work?
