Qn re amiga linux install

Hi,

Hoping this won't appear like a silly question, but I've done about all the FAQ reading and websearching I can and still havent quite got this figured out...

>From ftp.debian.org, I've downloaded

/debian/hamm/hamm/disks-m68k/1998-03-10/common/root.bin
/debian/hamm/hamm/disks-m68k/1998-03-10/common/base2_0.tgz
/debian/hamm/hamm/disks-m68k/1998-03-10/amiga/vmlinux
/debian/hamm/hamm/disks-m68k/1998-03-10/amiga/drv1440.bin
/debian/hamm/hamm/disks-m68k/1998-03-10/amiga/resc1440.bin
/debian/hamm/hamm/disks-m68k/1998-03-10/amiga/amiboot-5.6

I then booted linux by doing;

amiboot -k vmlinux -r root.bin root=/dev/ram

Which started the install. I did all the partitioning/swap creation and was able to unpack the base2_0.tgz file system as well.

I have the drv1440.bin and resc1440.bin in my dh0:linux directory. The problem I'm having is with the "Install Operating System Kernel and Modules" section. I select it, verify the filesystem choice.

I then select "harddisk : filesystem on the hard disk" then "/dev/sdb1". As the "path inside the harddisk filesystem where Debian archive resides" I put in "/linux". I choose the directory from a list and select the only option ; "/instmnt/linux".

Then I get an error "Unable to mount the Rescue Floppy" and on the screen i also have:

affs_bmap(): No ext_cache!?
loop: block 0 not present
end_request: I/O error, dev 07:00, sector 0
FAT bread failed
Mount /dev/loop0 (type msdos) on /floppy: wrong filesystem type, or bad superblock on /dev/loop0

I've tried other variations in getting it to work but don't seem to be getting anywhere.

Thanks for any advice that can be offered.

;-)
