I'm probably wrong about this, but if the Q610 has ethernet
builtin to the m'bd, its not supported; yet! I have Debian
running here on several Quadra's and I've tried literally dozens
of kernel's, and the builtin ethernet doesn't work on any of them.
Check your boot dialog using dmesg, and look for Sonic being detected.
That will be the ethernet controller; its detected as sn0 device.
You'll probably see its address is not read correctly, if it is seen.
It may generate an ILLEGAL MAC ADDRESS error with later kernels (does
on my Q650 using 2.1.120). I use a Nubus ethernet card, which works
fine.
