Pine has an offensively non-free license, so much so, that Debian is
unable to distribute binaries of it.  IIRC, you can find
pine-{src,diff} packages in the non-free section of any debian mirror
and you should be able to compile pine from these (though I don't know
any of the details).

I'd encourage you, instead, however to try a free MUA such as af, elm,
exmh, gnus, mh, mutt, nmh, or vm.
