Goswin submitted the existence of separate logfiles as a bug, and Branden
changed it :-)
It's a matter of taste, I prefer having separate logfiles. 'tee' might help
to satisfy both camps..

Yes it does. I think it happened in -3 already, but I admit I didn't give
that one a too careful testing (-3 was only a repackaged -2 after patching
the source and debian/ files, and Brian was literally breathing down my neck
because it was already too late). -2 was OK though. So look for changes in the
postinst and /etc/X11 config files from -2 to -3.
Moral: don't suspect bugs only in C code, and don't ever cave in to deadline
pressure :-(
