I had a go at it on Tuesday - fortunately I still had my old 4.16 patches
(actually mostly the old patches by Andreas) at home, and they patched
in cleanly in MOST places (some files had moved, and the host/target
checking is now not done in the 'configure' script anymore, but in
seperate 'configure.tgt' and 'configure.host' scripts.

Unfortunately, it would not compile yet - I get a strange parse error
from cpp for /usr/include/sys/ptrace.h, but that file looks perfectly
fine to me (writing a 1-liner that includes it works ok).
I can imagine that this is a cpp/gcc bug. If someone has a clue, please
tell me.

Frank
