Hi, Everybody loves lightning (5') talks, what if we extend the idea and have 10', 20' apart from the normal 45' talks? Objectives: + Have more content in less time. + Increase attendees attention to the talks + Give options to subject that require more than 5' but less than 45' The 10' talks are a longer version of a lightning talk. Demos are a good target for these kind of slots. The idea is to pack 4 of this talks in a normal 45' slot, so, 1' minute setup for speakers. Proposed name: Fast Talk Instead of 4 of 10', we could also do 3 of 15'. The 20' talks have their own slot (30' slot with a 10' pause between talks). I think most talks can fit in this length. Think about TEDs 18' presentations, and also the currently believed maximum attention span [1]. From my personal point of view, for complex technical topics it's impossible to cover them in 45' anyway, so it's better to have a talk that provokes hunger to learn more on a topic, with good pointers for where to find out more than to have details that you won't remember after the talk. The 45' slots can stay as the classics, but reserved only to great speakers that can really keep the audience engaged for that long.
