From what I understand, madduck is working closely with German lawyers familiar with the matter. Without having had the time to do an in-depth review, I am unsure if throwing away that work would be a good use of our time & resources.
I agree that safe-guarding the eV against a rogue board, however unlikely, seems to be a cheap and easy fix, though.
