Hi folks, So it's been mentioned/discussed several times that we will not have 24-hour access to the conference venue. The SMSU building has normal hours 7am-10pm Mon-Sat, and 9am-6pm on Sunday. Since Debian folks are so awesome, the venue is letting us have access to the building from 7am-10pm on Sunday, August 24 as well. But as we all know, DebConf is a 24-hour affair. We have arranged a night hacklab space in the Broadway building (the primary dorm), on the second floor, that will be available all night. However, for student safety reasons, *that* building locks at 8pm, and only people who are staying in the dorms will have keycard access to it. So we need to decide how we're going to let non-hosted attendees into the building. It's not a problem for them to be in the building, they just have to have a way of getting in. Do we want to station volunteers at the doors during certain hours, to allow folks to come in freely? Do we want to post a phone number for people to call to be let in (possibly rotated on a nightly basis, depending on who the current volunteer is)? Tell people to coordinate on IRC? Or on an adhoc basis? Whatever we decide as a team, the plan should be posted to <https://wiki.debconf.org/wiki/DebConf14/Welcome>. I'd appreciate it if someone could take care of this - we should have a plan communicated to attendees by Saturday, when it starts to matter.
