For SPI:

Software in the Public Interest, Inc. (SPI) is a tax-exempt public charity
under section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code. Donations
to SPI may be tax-deductible as charitable contributions for many US taxpayers[
and a small number of Canadian, Mexican, and Israeli taxpayers]. Consult your
tax advisor for details.

Probably leave out the bracketed part for simplicity - SPI does. :)
