My two cents. I concur that the NO Debian or DebConf web pages should
promote or endorse any proprietary services. If folks want to share
information via unofficial channels as individuals I have no
objection, as long as it is clear that it is not official, endorsed or
promoted by Debian or the DebConf team in any way. That said if there
is a consensus to disallow even this, I would not object.

Regarding JavaScript and HTML5, I view this more of a technical
decision rather than policy. They are open standards with Free
Software implementations for both. I think they should be allowed from
an official policy point of view, but I agree that we should make sure
there are alternatives for people who don't use tools that support
them.
