[Debconf-team] Feasibility of having printed proceedings?

Hi,

For earlier DebConfs (IIRC up to DC7), attendees got a printed copy of
the proceedings. I always liked having this, being able to read the
articles presented for the talks before they were presented (to be
better prepared for the information), or referring to them from my
shelf later on. And also as a small ego boost, why not?

We stopped printing them because they do have a non-negligible
cost. But we still have a team preparing them, and given this year we
are getting special treatment from a sovereign nation... Do you think
we could print the proceedings?

I am asking for this thinking that:

• We are not directly going to see the government money, but the goods
provided by it (hotel, food, transportation, shirts, and a seemingly
  large etc
• AFAICT, it has to be spent locally
• I am unaware of the specifics of how are we facing the amount. We
could have enough to print this as a nice luxury! (of course, if we
are approaching the top of our allotted money, this point should be
  ignored)

Anyway, the plan is to edit the proceedings even if only in digital
form. But if we _do_ print them, we'd need clear deadlines, maximum
sizes (i.e. page count, page size, what kind of binding, etc.)

Greetings,
